May Days!

Check out what Room 6 has been up to these past few weeks!

- Learning about ladybugs and butterflies
- Field trip to Seussical the Musical
- Writing a class book about Butterflies
- Mystery Readers
-Star Tag Ceremony on Friday

Writing:
We have begun our unit on informative writing. When we write to inform, we must include facts we have obtained from research. Your kindergartner has learned how to conduct research, or gather information, by looking at nonfiction pictures, looking through nonfiction texts, and watching short video clips. This week we have been focusing on writing about butterflies. Next week, your child will be writing his/her very own research book on a zoo animal.
Check out the photos below. Children have been hard at work researching!

Field Trip:
On Wednesday, Kindergarten went on a field trip to Seussical the Musical! The play was based on stories from Dr. Seuss, including Horton Hears a Who, Horton Hatches the Egg, and Gertrude McFuzz. The kids really enjoyed it! Thank you to the chaperones for joining us on the field trip! Check out the photos below!

Creatures!
Room 6 is crawling with creatures. We have butterflies, and ladybugs. We even saw a moth outside our window!

 Mystery Readers:
Last week we had two mystery readers! My parents came in on Wednesday to read a special story, Make Way for Ducklings. The kids enjoyed this classic book, and my mom enjoyed reading to the children!

Then Abigail's mom came in to be our Mystery Reader on Friday!

If you have not been a mystery reader yet, or if someone else in your family would like to be a Mystery Reader in our class, please let me know! We have a few more slots open until the end of the school year.
Thank you!!!

A big thank you to all parents for making this week so special for teachers at Fox Hill. Mrs. Binnall and I loved the notes, flowers, muffins, and the luncheon on Friday for Teacher Appreciation Week.
We could not do what we do without YOU!
